– 2005
Developed
LANSA cross-reference tool & Project Control Tool. Converted over 400 LANSA
functions with over 100 file name changes and
over 11000 field name changes.
Client: RPA Process Technologies
Added
functionality to a VL (Visual) LANSA application to record Project Stage
Validation information. Created new
files, with rules, triggers, etc. and new VL LANSA components that were
integrated into an existing Quote generation system.
Client: City of Portage, Michigan
Designed,
developed, deployed and trained staff to use a comprehensive set of Visual
LANSA applications that integrated with and enhanced the functionality of the
HTE (governmental applications packaged software) Work Order system for the
City of Portage, Michigan. This project
included a wireless laptop interface for the Streets Department and a PDA
interface for the Parks & Recreation departments. The City of Portage Parks and Recreation department won the Innovative
Parks Resource Award from the Michigan Recreation and Parks Association for
the PDA project in 2004.
Features
include a wireless interface for “standalone-and-synch” data exchange using
LANSA Integrator for both PDA and laptop PC devices. The new functionality provides staff the ability to record work
order data while in the field and transmit it to the iSeries when in
communications range.
Additional
functions included providing Windows interfaces for packaged green-screen
maintenance, specialized analysis and reporting features. This application required an intimate
knowledge of the functioning of the packaged software, importing over 150 HTE
files into LANSA, as well as the creation and interfacing of over 20 LANSA
files, with appropriated logicals, predetermined join fields, access routes,
virtual fields, rules and triggers, etc. Over 80 VL components, many reusable
parts, LANSA Processes and Functions were needed to support file synchronization
and application function. The following
development tools were used:
Client: Cooperative Elevator
LANSA Consultant
(Contract) 2003

Ledger modules of the HTE governmental software product. The system was expanded to integrate with
the Building Permit and Land management modules of HTE as well as interfacing
with a stand-alone PC product used by the Assessors.
This project required working with managers and staff in the
Assessors Office, Finance and Community Development departments.

foreign-based) of this furniture manufacturer to process customer calls and web
orders. The application required the
ability to fill Orders and distribute parts from warehouses identified to be
closest to the customer’s location.
Acknowledgements were automatically sent to customers who provided email
addresses. The system also provided
tracking customer requests to alert staff of possible abuse situations.
